About Peggy Guest

Peggy Guest, Ph.D. is the owner of Aspire Coaching and Consulting. At Aspire, Peggy works with clients seeking executive coaching and leadership development.

Peggy has developed customized leadership assessment and coaching plans for senior leaders in major corporations, small businesses, and in not for profit and educational organizations. Peggy’s clients have included Purina Nestle, Climate, Monsanto, Bayer, Graybar, Twain Financial Partners, The Federal Reserve, MICDS, New City School, Washington University, Denver University, and College Bound.

In her coaching work, Dr. Guest helps her clients consider the assets that have made them successful to date and the contexts in which they thrive and are able to lead co-workers and organizations to thrive as well. With a core philosophy called Asset Based Thinking™, deriving from the thought leaders of Positive Psychology™, Peggy helps her clients develop a strategy for leveraging their own leadership qualities and deeply held values and to make a plan for setting that strategy in motion.

As part of her coaching engagement with clients, Peggy interviews stakeholders to gain greater understanding of how her client is valued as a leader and what behavioral and communication shifts the client might make in order to have greater positive impact as a leader.

In her personal life coaching work, Peggy applies ABT coaching practices for people in transition.

In earlier parts of her career, Dr. Guest worked as an educator and as a psychotherapist. At Washington University, Dr. Guest taught Women’s Studies and Counselor Education for 20 years. In that work, she was part of shaping a larger cultural conversation about changing expectations for men and women, especially as women entered the professional workforce and rose to leadership roles.

Participating as a civic leader in community organizations has always been a core part of Peggy Guest’s life. As a co-founder of several civic and professional organizations and in other civic commitments, she has developed forums to explore community issues and develop productive networks and resources.

She has been an active member on several boards of directors including FOCUS St. Louis, the St. Louis Forum and the YWCA as well as Boys and Girls Club of Greater St. Louis and Safe Connections. Peggy participated in Leadership St. Louis and was a member of the Racial Polarization Community Task Force. She has been active in Bridges, a program of FOCUS working for racial harmony. She is currently a volunteer for Rung, an organization dedicated to empowering women to transform their lives.

Dr. Guest received her Ph.D. from Washington University in St. Louis and also has a BA in Communication Disorders from St. Louis University.
